Quilling Unit:
4-6th Grade
During this lesson students will learn how to create various styles of quills by rolling narrow strips of paper into coils. They will create a reference worksheet which will lead into a final project. The subsequent lesson introduces students to radial symmetry and reintroduces students to the art of quilling. Students will look at 18th Century Colonial American Hex designs popular of the Pennsylvania Dutch while creating their own simple radial design. Their radial designs will then be filled in using the coil technique they learned in the previous lesson while continuing to apply the radial symmetry concept to their design.

Xylene Transfer Lesson:
5th - 8th grade
This lesson introduced students to a transfer technique using xerox found images onto another surface. Practicing technique and craft were the main priorities of this lesson. Students looked at the old technique of carbon paper transfer while comparing and contrasting to the new process of xylene transfers. Afterward, students created collage, magnets and/or stickers using the xylene process.

Teaching for Artistic Behavior:
K - 8th grade
During the first 7 weeks of my student teaching experience I was placed in a choice-based art classroom. Below you will see some of the work that was done during my time there. All work was student-directed.
